The GHBL Umpire program always needs more adult and teen umpires.  This is a great way to get your kids involved in the game and help turn them into a complete baseball player.  Umpires are paid $25-$35 per game in the Rookies, Minors (9/10yo) and Majors (11/12yo) divisions. 

For the Rookies and Minors division we typically use just the plate umpire position. While in the Majors division we add a base umpire in addition to the plate umpire. All participants in our program must be at least 12 years old. We keep Majors Umps as 15yo+, so that if we have anyone playing in the league does not umpire their division. 

On occasion, we will umpire Babe Ruth 13-15yo  games and Virginia Stars travel games. The Babe Ruth and Virginia Stars game umpires and pay are determined separately ($50+). 

Fall 2022 Umpire Training will take place at Long Park on August 21st at 5:00pm (meet near the snack shack) and September 2nd, at 6:00pm at Long Park as well.  Expect Orientation to take about 60mins for new umpires (30 mins for returning umpires).

We now use the CaddieNow app/platform for game assignment and payment. CaddieNow supports local youth caddie program and umpire programs throughout the country.
